I love cats! When we stayed at a timeshare in Hawaii, there were several feral cats roaming around. Each unit had a front door that opened to the outside. I put some cat food in a dish outside our door every morning and 3 pretty cats would show up like magic. They seemed to know that if they wandered in front of the doors, they would find a cat lover or two somewhere.

Sounds similar to Istanbul which is my kiddo’s #1 place she wants to visit for just one reason—the cats. 😜
🤔 I should suggest cat-adjacent song Istanbul (Not Constantinople) to the Current …They Might Be Giants version-though the original The Four Lads is quite fun, too.

🐈 I love cats, too, btw. I sadly made the decision to euthanize my siamese cat, Kiki Marika a couple weeks ago. Never ever had to do that before and guess what. I did not like it one bit. I felt like I had hired a cat assassin. She was absolutely gorgeous and sweet as can be.
Still have the other cat, Dewy Patootie. He brings me mice.

Siamese cats are notoriously ill-tempered.. Pretty, but not the best pets sadly.
I had a white turkish angora for 10 years. She was a stray.
Her name was Milli Vanilli, because she lip-synched. Also, the “vanilli” sort worked with “vanilla”. She would meow, but no sound would come out. So, in order to make noise she had to screech.
She was an excellent fly hunter, but not a good mouser. There was a mouse in my apartment once and she went up and sniffed it, but let it go. I said “you’re fired!”.

She was probably a cat member of PETA! When I was 7 we got a kitten from a neighbor whose cat had kittens. I asked for a girl kitty and named her Priscilla. She grew up to be a large, friendly gray tom cat who had the run of neighborhood. When he wanted to come in the house he jumped on our porch railing and rang the doorbell. The other kids liked to play in our front yard when he was around to see if he would ring the doorbell.

So sorry for your loss. If there are cats in heaven she is looking down on you with love. Ten years ago we had to put down our sweet 18-year old doggie who had a severe stroke. We miss her still. As the saying goes, “They leave their paw prints on our hearts.” 🙏

Oh, wow! 18 years for a dog is almost unheard of. Our dog is now 16 and I thought that was old. Yes, they do leave their paw prints on our hearts.🐾 And, everywhere else, too. 😉

A perfect movie about a guy who made the worst movie of all time. (Plan 9 from Outer Space).
The thing to do is to watch both movies back to back. Awesome double feature!

While labeled as the worst movie of all time by the book ‘The Golden Turkey Awards’, which was probably a blessing for the movie as it was lifted out of semi-obscurity and elevated to cult classic status, ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’ is far from being the worst.

The ‘Plan 9’ / ‘Ed Wood’ double feature is a great suggestion. We’ve done that before with our youngest child. Both of the movies are so much fun, for very different reasons.

BTW, Nosferatu (the one that came out in 2024) is really good. It was up for best picture.-
I do agree that the contrast is dramatic between the two films. I should have mentioned my agreement.
I did see Nosferatu (2024). I liked it quite a bit. It was significantly better, in my opinion, than Luc Besson’s Dracula (2025).
It is getting very difficult to find a story based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, specifically, that adds something that hasn’t been done in the 100+ years of film. Vampire stories on the other hand still have a lot of room for creativity and discovery.
Not too long ago I watched Deafula (1975), the first feature length film acted entirely in ASL. Definitely original and unique. I mean, not a great movie. But it was interesting and a something completely new to me.

Leaving the humorless bot behind, I went to my favorite SHADY tree. There, I hopped into my hammock for a cozy nap right next to a colony of feral but harmless cats. When, suddenly, the neighbor unleashed the hounds and it was all over but the “Och-ry-ing.”

Like SeanH I am a war baby. Today’s puzzle number is my year. I have done this puzzle justice or it has been kind to me.Last night I was playing in the archives and got the same result for the first line. After lots of SHA words it settled on SHAKE. So just now I looked at SHA words in the OG NU list. There were 4 but I chose the right one. Nothing shady though. I just liked the look of the word. I seem to be attracted to Ys. That’s how I went from 81 to the one.
