Second time a word on wordle was repeated that wasn’t on your list! Todays wasn’t there and yet we’d had it before (YODEL)

YODEL was not a repeat today. And no repeat has ever failed to be on the list, but if you have specific information (dates, answer numbers, other references) I’m always glad to look into it. I’m curious why you think this.

Well ..:. Yesterday I used Google’s AI, Gemini, and asked if YODEL had been used before and it said yes and gave me an actual hashtag number. I called it out on it today and it said it panicked and got it wrong 😳 That’s a lesson on the inaccuracy of AI. I was convinced it had been used.

That’s a problem with A.I. It never answers “I don’t know” and will fabricate an answer if it doesn’t.
Over 10,000 people use Five Forks Wordle each day and many help keep it accurate. Any error or omission I make gets feedback fast!

Hey, two things that i wanted to say.
1. Thank you for this list. You help a LOT of wordlers!
2. I wonder if you have considered making a graph to show the frequency of repeated words. Just trying to get clues as to when it happens. Or is that a lot like predicting earthquakes? 😉-
I don’t have a graph, but I keep a table under hints and tips that helps including a summary of repeat grouping (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) but even that is a bit misleading. The link is at the top of the list: “REPEAT STATS”.

After a lot of math discussion here, there is agreement that on any given day, the chance of repeat is always well under 50%, so it is, in effect, unpredictable. I just play them by feel.

🙋🏻♀️ Some unknown person has actually analyzed that information-including stats for adds. The link was shared recently at the AP. If you don’t want to see the Quantity of how many of each are left in the pool, do not look at this link FYI —for some that constitutes a spoiler which I respect! ✊🏻🫡 It does not, however, give future answers or future lists. Just the quantities.

has there been a thought about listing all the possible answers that have not been used yet? i know when we get closer to there only being 200ish unused, i would like to always pick one from that list to start.

I thought a lot about this as well as a daily “repeat warning” that has been requested. It comes down to using past vs. future information. Five Forks Wordle was started as a past-answer (no spoiler) site. To get things like remaining answers, additions to the answer pool, the guess pool, repeats coming up, and even if today is a repeat all involves future information derived from someone looking under the hood at the code. Wordle didn’t come with a hood latch.
However, there are resources to get to “under the hood” information and many in the After Party discuss these tools, so you may want to join in!

I find no record that WAKEN was used before Sep 19. If it had, there would have been a lot of discussion about it in the Sep 19 After Party, especially given the recent repeat prior on Sep 13.
Do you have information otherwise you can share like a prior date or answer #?

What does the white triangle with blue background mean after some words. It says “jump back to A-Z” but I don’t get it. Thx!

The A-Z index will scroll the page to that letter’s alpha grouping. Then you can jump back up to the A-Z index to go to a different grouping. This method was the first search tool. Later the Search button method was added. Most recently the filter / exclude method was added.
I measure and all 3 are still being used, but filter is the most popular.
