got caught up in a game of five card tarot, pentacles wild down at the creek. decision time after i was dealt a high priestess from the bottom of the deck. 🤔 play it fast and loose, or put my finger on the pulse? 🤷♂️ 🎲🎲⚡️🎯

🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧STEAL left 6 possible, 3 used: CLOSE 822, LOSER 365, LOUSE 1027. Unused were LOOSE, PULSE, WELSH.
I second-guessed myself and chose PULSE, which left CLOSE, LOOSE.

🟨🟨⬛⬛🟩 SLATE … 2NU pulse & loose; 1PU louse
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 LOOSE … played the slightly better oddsOOSE all showed up in the top three of each of the 5 letter positions while only the SE in pulse showed up in the top 3. I’m using the original and outdated letter frequency chart cuz that’s what I have. 🤖 chose pulse
Using JD’s updated (8.11) most common starting letter in each position (SAIEY) matched none. JD, it would be interesting to know your top 3 letters in his daily updated letter position chart. I see you have LO in tier 2 and SE in tier 1. I finally did it… I now have an apple note called JD- complete with cool Snoopy image.
-
This is the OG letter frequency list (letters are in order of frequency within each category, too)—I got this from some article I read & I’m sure someone will correct me if it’s wrong. This is the list I’ve been relying on for tie-breakers for 1,883 games and I’ve lost just once (damn you gunky🔥).
* First Letter- S, C, B, T, P, A, F, R, G
* Second Letter- A, O, R, E, I, L, U, H
* Third Letter- A, I, O, E, U, N, L
* Fourth Letter- E, N, S, L, A, I, C
* Fifth Letter- E, Y, T, R, L, H, D, N, K-
Good.job, Christine! I will copy the letter position list…

Christine- tnx for posting the letter position list.

The Snoopy is a nice touch. He’s my spirit animal!
If I could post an image or a table, I could just post the new chart.
I recreated that old chart using the original 2315 words to check the math.
I have limited access to that spreadsheet on my iphone. I can view it on my Drop Box app, but I have to do a lot of pinching and panning. I had to do it today, because ___SE was a new pattern. I had not charted it yet.
I can look at this stuff on Monday on my work computer unless I decide to look at it on my home computer.

Wordle 1,883 2/6
⬜⬜⬜🟩🟩 RAISE
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 LOOSEA bit of luck today.
RAISE leaves 5 words. LOOSE is the perfect filter, because of NOOSE, PULSE and OBESE (nowhere else to put the O)
=============================
A sloping grassy hill at Woodstock in 1969. (I thought the concert was early 70’s. hmmm)-
🦅✨✨✨ Besides being the perfect filter, your tiers and positions lists point directly to loose over all the others. Bravo JD. 👏 If only NYT had you on its wordle staff instead of the yahoos they currently employ (or maybe they are unpaid interns or untrained monkeys 🐒).
🤖👎
JD👍-
I need a pin for my head now; so, I can pop it.
You are really too kind.
I may be in the minority opinion here , but I still think Tracy picks the words. There are items in her background that point to it.
I’ll share later.
I think they just need a Java programmer to 1) encrypt the data 2) add the 600+ words identified in the Weighted Bottle list (this would more than double the answer list which has only 469 words in it 3) randomize the remaining solutions without replaying them. (REPEATs go “Bu Bye Now” like the Rude Airlines sketch on SNL). 4) Once the last word is played, put the whole list on random and if it repeats, it repeats. No curating necessary. Makes her job easier.

*YouTube hint: Put a dash between T and U and watch ad-free. YOUT-UBE
I remember YOUT by thinking of famous My Cousin Vinny scene: Judge Haller: “Uh… did you say ‘yutes’? “Vinny Gambini: “Yeah, two yutes.” Judge Haller: “What is a yute?”

Nice tip. Just reading up on the tech behind it. Whoever bought http://www.yout-ube.com just redirects you to a “secret” nocookies domain YouTube uses for embeds that doesn’t (likely) include ads. Tricky!

AROSE has been so kind to you recently! I am tempted to adopt it too.

yes it has been a good 1st guess. Plus, it has never been used so one of these days I will win on the first guess. But I do get messed up by PUs.
I was a little bit lucky yesterday and today though because there were 2 possibilities (that were not PUs) and I picked the winner.

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩Dust that the vacuuming missed.
Surely there is a more inspiring interpretation.-
‘Dust Bunny’ is concise and cute. … ‘Night of the Dust Lepus’? Oh, it’s not in dark mode.
What do people call dust bunnies in Austalia? In Cairns it should have been dust geckos, because they were everywhere at my aunt’s house.
-
I had forgotten the term Dust Bunny. It is not so common in Australia. I think I have only heard it from an American. I don’t know of an alternative name here despite the phenomenon being common. Maybe just a dust ball.
-
Dust Roo?

Of course!!
Well done!
