β¬β¬β¬β¬π¨ Slate
β¬π¨β¬π¨β¬ Orcin
π¨π©π¨β¬π¨ Ridge
π©π©π©π©π© Diver
Slate and Orcin led to 5 words not on the PUL and one word used in Nov. 2021. I disregarded 6 words used in β23, β24, or β26. That left: Diver, Giver, River, Viper, and Wider, plus possibly Fixer from NOV. 2021. I used Ridge as the burner which led to Diver. I had been thinking about Laser as my first guess and maybe Tonic as the second. Later I computed that on paper and ended up with almost the same results as above. Iβm not good at seeing patterns in the in the green and yellow squares, but this reminds me of a game of checkers that Yellow might be losing. π
You could try STOLE and CAIRN using the same letters and giving a slightly improved green score (if you are always planning to play 2 starter words).
I believe CAIRN hasn’t been played yet if you want to try for ONE.
STOLE has a better green score.
This is all based on the original 2315 list.

My new strategy isnβt working as well at cutting down my number of guesses, but it is definitely bringing the fun back.

Can you explain what you’re new strategy is?
This is the main reason I participate on this list (to see how others play the game to see if I can learn from it.)
It’s not a strategy so much as I am taking a break from a lot of the analyzing I usually do. I am not spending as much time looking for the “perfect” guess. More like how I payed in the beginning.
Two valid approaches.
Analytical strategy or freedom. Or mix and match.
Maybe just a matter of personality or mood.

STEAL, ROUND left 12 possible, but 8 were used, leaving DERBY, DIVER, DRIER, WIDER. DRIER wasn’t the answer, but it was a perfect filter.
3 is good and it tied the Bot…

Thanks!
Nice one (two)
new starter has certainly RAISEd your game π
Thanks.
I’ve been playing these games in ROATE (after RAISE) and it’s close. Occasionally, ROATE does better, sometimes worse. It’s usually a tie.
Congrats!

β¬π¨π¨π©β¬ adieu
π©π©β¬π©π© diner
π©π©π©π©π© diver
Adieu was a good starting word today
ADIEU was my first and only regular start word when I began doing Wordle four years ago. Then I switched to AUDIO. Then I realized I didnβt like having a regular start word.
*Looks like you laid a log over a stream and just finished crossing.

β¬β¬β¬π©π© Saner
β¬β¬β¬π¨β¬ Tulip
π©π©π©π©π© Diver
After TULIP, 13 common words remained, of which 9 were unused. Of those 9, the letters D and V appeared most often. DIVER was the only one with both. It was a pleasant surprise when it turned out to be the answer.
Thatβs a cool solve. Looks like a hood ornament. Or a fallen throne.

Oops, read the wrong row in my best 2nd words chart (count is best word for small t instead of small e). π€¦π»ββοΈ Diner would have been the best. Since N was already tried and failed, I switched the N to a V and the board went all green, unexpectedly as there were at least 17 unused wordle words.
In βComparing our solutionsβ section of the botβs analysis, it says, oddly, βMy solution was calculated on July 5, 2026, and doesnβt have knowledge of more recent Wordles.β WTH bot? π΅βπ« NYT is ruining wordle.
Went on reddit to find that the dictionary was altered early July and thatβs why the bot cannot analyze the past few days. So weird.

I have pages in my spreadsheet dedicated to the patterns (a er, i er, o er, and ri e). I haven’t used them in a while, but very relevant when there were a lot more words unplayed.

DINER (740) is a great word, but it was already played which gives it no better than a %10 chance of success.
At least it lead you directly to the answer though. So, it wasn’t all bad.
Still a great solve.
for sure.

Good four and congratulations to your fellow Kiwi Ryan Fox for birdie on 18 to win the British Open golf championship.
In the UK, they just call it “The Open”.
wasn’t sure Glenda knew that.
I bet she does. She’s in a Commonwealth country.
I mentioned it more as an interesting fact for all that are reading it.
Similarly, the tennis championship held at Wimbledon is simply just “The Championship” rather than “Wimbledon”.
This is because golf and tennis were invented in the UK. (golf -> Scotland) (tennis – > England).
Guess I can’t complain about Par, tho quite a few got a birdie
π Go Ryan Fox π (wrong sport but flag selection is v. limited)
