  1. ADD Update
    ==========================
    Today was the 42nd ADD

According to Wordle Tools, there are 2 more ADD’s coming from now till 7/23. They say 3, but I am assuming that “MAVEN” is one of them. I’ll check back Monday to confirm.

So, 2 in the next 21 days.

That’s one every 10 days (for now).

      How do they know?

      1. Good question.

They do something that none of us should do.

They look inside the Wordle code.

The answers for the next 30 days are there.

    2. I am new to the After Party, but not new to Wordle.
      Please explain β€œADD”

      Thank you!

      1. NYT is adding new words to the list. These are words that can be guessed as answers and *may* also be answers. Roughly 12,000 words can be guessed in Wordle. But under 3,000 of them are on the “answers” list. There is an F.A.Q. under Support where you can get more info.

Welcome to the After Party, EATS!

I was feeling a K today. Either I misinterpreted a lazy V stuck to a wall as a K, or I was just wrong. I prefer to assume the former.

RAVEN was chosen because I love Corvids. We don’t have any RAVENs here, but I do have a murder of CROWS that visit me every morning for a breakfast of our chopped up leftovers. I call them Myrtle. All of them. I can’t tell them apart. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

    ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟨 RAISE

RAISE leaves only 2 words (I thought).

    CAGEY and OAKEN.

At this point, I said Uh Oh! I think a REPEAT or an ADD is coming.

I looked for possible repeats. They are…

PANEL, LAPEL, LABEL, VALET, MATEY, BAGEL, TAKEN, FACET, CAMEO, CADET, CAMEL, NAVEL, HAZEL, HAVEN, WAXEN, GAVEL, EATEN, LADEN.

That’s 18 words with that pattern.

Then, I had to decide between the 2.

I figured there were a lot of C’s recently, so, went for CAGEY first.

    ===========================β€’
Playing the 2 unused 2315 words, narrowed it down to 4 REPEAT words.

    HAVEN (1582)
    WAXEN (1675)
    EATEN (1728)
    LADEN (1755)

    None of these are recent!!

    Potential ADDs
    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”-

So, MAVEN had to be it and it was.

    🟨🟨⬜⬜⬜ Veldt

Saner reduced the number of unused common words to 3 possibilities so I picked one.

Oaken eliminated the other 2 unused common words, so I started looking for a word with the next most likely letters in the remaining uncommon words, VDT.

Veldt narrowed the possibilities to uncommon Maven or previously used Haven.

    1. I looked up veldt just now. The Veldt was an interesting 1950 science fiction short story by Ray Bradbury, in which a smart home takes over parental duties.
