started with an easy word today. But more importantly, it was a perfectly good, UNUSED word.

WHY-
Can be aggravating. There’s an FAQ on why the repeats have been introduced including stats on the rates of repeats on the Support > Tips & FAQ page.
I also update a “low / medium / high” repeat odds status at the top of the list each day. Not an exact science.

Given the pattern of CASTE and PASTE, I would never guess HAUTE (Although, it would have helped LOL).
PASTE more common than the other 2 words, and noticing a subtrend to the last words on the list per UNITY and QUEER previously.
PASTE ruled out all 3. Thus, it’s a REPEAT!
I really need to get my list of suggested ADDs up quickly now. She needs hints.
Only possible REPEAT is ACUTE.
Only possible ADD is AXITE. It would never be that word anyway.
Maybe there is something to that “month of U’s” thing.

My bad. I throw the “HIGH” when we get to 10. The list is always through yesterday, so the published count is also through yesterday. So the list 13 days, but yes today makes it 14.
May need a “SUPER-HIGH” status.

You know. I think she is deliberately not trying to be so predictable.
She’s just as likely to do another REPEAT tomorrow as she is to do another one in 14 days or 20 days.

The I tried and tried to come up with something that hadn’t been used before, but it really had to be ACUTE.

I read through some of JD’s analyses yesterday and, although he said it was no longer the best option, decided to go with ORATE anyway. Happy with that result. Even though I knew the ♻️ chance was higher than ever, I still felt like I needed to try an unused. 🤦🏻♀️ I swear, my reasoning skills are truly declining these days.
I really hope JD didn’t pick today to change his start word to RAISE. The IRONY (#433)!

You know, I almost did change to RAISE today!
I spent a good hour setting up my spreadsheet to prepare for either RAISE or SANER. I’ll explain in greater detail in a separate post why “SANER (unplayed 2315)” is actually “CRAZY (41)”.

So, since I have the list now. I said to myself what would have happened if I played RAISE.
RAISE : A in the wrong position E in the correct position.
ABODE: A in the correct position. E in the correct position.
ALGAE: The only word left in the 2315 list.
ACUTE (190).ABODE / ALGAE. would have ruled all ADD’s but ACKEE, AKENE which are not likely ADDs. Also would have ruled out REPEATS like AGAPE (383), AMAZE (1823), AMBLE (1372), AMPLE (302), ANGLE (1374), ANKLE (1729), APPLE (598), ABIDE (1004), ADOBE (40).
It wouldn’t have mattered whatever order I played ABODE and ALGAE.

Avoiding the REPEAT is the correct play IMHO per the odds.
15 REPEATs in 144 games since CIGAR. That’s a %10.4 chance of a REPEAT.
10 ADDs in 136 games since CIGAR. That’s a %7.4 chance of an ADD.
CIGAR is ground zero for REPEATS.
Taken together %18.7 of either.
%81.3 chance that’s it off the original answer list.
Tracy has followed up an ADD with another ADD. So, there is no reason to believe she wont do it with a REPEAT.
Also, she can go a while without a REPEAT. Last one was 14 days ago.
So, trying to call the day the REPEAT will happen is FOLLY (751) in my opinion.

I replied to Fran on yesterday’s thread, but an interesting thing about your emoji name is that you now have two “approved” name formats that will auto-post. Interesting idea to have a collection of names.
WordPress just thinks the name + email combo are different people. And easy enough for me to approve.
So if you want a mix of pirate emoji’s go for it! Arrrr!
This also makes me think I should promote Gravatar (acquired by WordPress) for photo IDs in comments. Here is a good post on it:
