I was somewhat frustrated with this game today. Just have to keep telling myself that repeats will happen.
Transported. 😉
Thanks, Jeb. I’ll try to be more careful! 🥴
It was a tough one today.
REPEATS will indeed happen about %11 of the time now.
Once every 9 games on average.
They will happen, but don’t fall in the trap of playing REPEATs when it isn’t a REPEAT.
That might cost you a guess or two.
Odds are still with the non-REPEATs. %89 chance.
Congrats to those who got it in 2 today! I need to add to my list of first guesses, possibly Steal. 🙂
Elaine – Steal away! Would love the company!

Well, that’s unfortunate. Too soon for a repeat and still waiting for an add. WTH, Tracy??

One thing I like about Hard mode is it doesn’t let you do that.
Actually I do play hard mode, so it must allow it.
Oh yeah, I see the asterisk now. My bad.
No worries! 🙂
In hard mode you can’t not use a know letter (green or yellow.) You also can’t move a green letter. But you can (and should) move a yellow letter. I think in Eric’s example he was had yellow E in slot 2, moved it to yellow slot 4 and then back to yellow 2 again. I don’t think hard mode stops that.
From Wordle settings:
Hard Mode
Any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses.

I think green has to stay green and yellow just has to continue to be used.
Still can be helpful when cycling through a bunch of words and forget a letter or placement.

Crone led to about 30 possible answers with 10 used before 2024. TRIED narrowed it to 2 and they were used in 2021: FRESH in July and BREAK in DEC. There are more words on the Wordle Word List starting with BR as compared to words staring with FR. Only 90 min. to get it in 3. 😂

STEAL left 12 possible, but all had been used! The youngest reuse so far was from 2023, so I removed anything newer, which left 6. The oldest option was also a pretty good filter.

Excellent!
Well done! The Sea of Orange is a nice variation.

great solve Sven 👍
sweet! turns out that by startin’ each day at the creek, every so often you catch a break, even if the repeat odds are low. 🎯😎

Went with the earliest repeat, as those were all I could think of to fit.

I wish I didn’t know about 🐟- would’ve got a 3 instead of 4 …..
Why does the repeat list show SMILE as the last repeat on 5/30/26? I thought that meant 13 days since the last repeat, so I tried three early repeats. But Jeb’s first page says Low odds.
Apparently there was a more recent repeat that is not included in the list.
Oh, I see now the repeat list doesn’t show THUMB on 6/7/26, and I forgot about it. Well that will teach me.
Thumb was updated on all 3 lists as a repeat: Alpha, Chron, and Block. The “LOW” odds showing 4 days passed has been counting up since then. (I only count up to yesterday since today is “unkown”.)
You may have a caching problem, which I’d like to help resolve. For the next few days, can you watch the update date/time at the top of the list? Updates are at 6 a.m. E.T. which shows as today for most players.
*IF* that date is old, there is a little blue recycle button you can click on to force an update.
But really, the site is supposed to refresh in everyone’s browser once a day.

🟨⬜🟨⬜🟨 ROATE
⬜🟨⬜🟨🟨 WAGER
🟨🟩🟩⬜⬜ ARENA
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BREAK (172)
I feel fortunate to have come away with a 4 on this one. Another Repeat!
She’s definitely picking up the pace now. It might be 1 in 9 now. She’s 1 full repeat ahead of schedule based on 1 in 10.
There are 541 words left in the 2315 list with %76.6 already been played.
ROATE narrowed down to 12.
WAGER left only one solution
ARENA I thought with the World Cup starting that this was it! Nope.
I have to admit that I said “Uh oh” when I matched 3 letters on the first word. Smelled like a REPEAT from the getgo!
So, then I had a dilemma! I needed to focus on getting this done in 6 (forget 4)!
I established the “_REA_” pattern
What was left?
BREAD (649)
BREAK (172)
BREAM (ADD)
CREAK (347)
CREAM (1344)
DREAD (1480)
DREAM (504)
FREAK (1682)
OREAD – unlikely
UREAL – unlikely.
Most common letters were B, D, K, M
So, I decided on BREAK (172) which was the earliest REPEAT.
Lucky! Guess 5 might have been a burner word.

Late bet on a quick repeat. This will tug on the stats.
Right, by my calculation for 1 in 10, she’s one full word ahead. Instead of 13 repeats since CIGAR, we’re at 14 now.
1 repeat every 9.3 games.
So close to 1 in 9 now.
ADDs have virtually stopped (Although, there are 2 in the queue).
I see a searchlight.
I see that too.

Good ☀️/🌃 to all!

Humble brag for FF site. I think she visits this site occasionally.
Tracy B? If she hasn’t, she is going to based on something I’m cooking up in the Five Forks Labs. 🧪🧫🔬
Ooooh. Intriguing!
Eye of newt and toe of frog?
I reference the Prior Used list to avoid recent repeats, but you and others sometimes reference “remaining” words.
The non-PU words come from my imagination, which obviously does not provide me with all of the possibilities. What is your source to determine how many words remain?
Charles,
I use the same source as you, i.e. the little gray cells, but I know some people have referred to “lists.” If you follow the comments in Wordle Review of the NYTimes, several people in the “First Shift” (early birds from Australia and New Zealand) mention lists. I thought they made up their own by comparing WordleBot’s list or the Weighted Bottles from WordleTools to the Five Forks. If there is a place online that lists remaining words, I don’t know of it.
I hope you find such a site 🙂
O Glenda, Glenda, wherefore art thou Glenda?
Deny thy Wordle and refuse thy name.
(That doesn’t make any sense.)
Hi, Jeb
Just wanted to remind you : THUMB is not listed in the repeat stats (but it’s ok on the Main List)
Thanks for all you do!
herefore I art – making sense is so overrated 😄
Glad you were not trapped in a snow bank! ⛷️

Jeb, might I suggest an appropriate change for today to your second line:
