_|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._|._My first visual was of an old playground tetherball. We actually had one in our side patio during childhood. I sucked at it because I was always the shortest kid on the block.
-
I totally see it!
When they get that ball whirling around the pole at a 45 degree angle. No one is tall enough to stop that!
Iβve been on both sides of that game.
-
Should have said this yesterday, but that is a great tetherball!
Green, static; yellow, dynamic potential. Perfect.

Did we chant today?

Obviously not. ππ

THUMBWordlebot always recommends TAROT for finding or eliminating letters. I checked today, and it has never been an answer, so I really need to remember to use it. (It looks like CAROB would be good, too.)
-
As someone whose grandmother was very health conscious, I disagree about CAROB being good. π
-
I never liked it much. myself. π€£
-
I have vague memories of trying carob as a child. I don’t need to find out if it is as awful as I think I remember :-p

Thank you for sharing this link! I moved to CT after living in FL where the ticks I saw most often were the Lone Star. These pictures show a very different bite mark.
I hope you feel better soon!-
Thanks, ADK.

Wordle 1,814 3/6*
π©β¬β¬β¬β¬ TREAD
π©π©β¬β¬β¬ THONG
π©π©π©π©π© THUMB[Basement]
My 2nd guess eliminated several previously used words, and as far as I could tell also eliminated any unused words (purposefully ignoring THUNK). Then, as with many of you, I went for the oldest previously used word.

Wordle 1,814 3/6
β¬β¬β¬π¨β¬ ROATE
π©β¬β¬π¨β¬ TIGHT
π©π©π©π©π© THUMB (115)Well itβs been 8 days since the last REPEAT (SMILE) on 5/30/26.
ROATE narrows it down to 13 words.
TIGHT eliminated ALL unplayed words.
Thus, it had to be a REPEAT or an ADD.
With a T and an H and all the vowels played but the U, It had to be a THU__ word.
My choices were.
THUNK (ADD)
THUMB (115)
THUMP (669)Since there were 2 different choices with an M, the choice was clear. Go with the earliest REPEAT.
=============================
I am not sure what this looks like.-
I first thought of thunk but thunk better of it after I thumped my brain and finally chose thumb, as a rule of thumb! Ha!

Worldly 1,814 3/6
β¬β¬β¬π¨β¬ Slate
β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬ Orcin
π©π©π©π©π© ThumbSlate, Orcin (10 most common letters on the NYT Wordle Answer List) led to Thumb or Thump using the Wordle Solver Tool. The letter P is more common than B as the 5th letter, but Thumb was used in 2022 and Thump was used in 2023, so I went with the older word; glad to get it in 3.

Testing Carrie’s idea of “EXCLUDE LETTERS” on the search filter. Added it to the BLOCK list first. The idea is that as you play, you can filter out “gray/black” letters from the filter list since they would no longer match. May have other uses.
Thanks to Teelee, rlalc, and Least for input.

Good morning Glenda! π
-
Hello – was lovely to have a greeting π
I started the puzzle, but headed off to petanque (and happily won 2 games finally, after loosing 10 in a row – we play in doubles or thruples)
and have just completed it now – somewhat successfully….I did look for the excluded letter filter (maybe you’ve not done it yet)
Cheers-
it’s hiding in the “block list”. had to hunt it down as well. don’t normally use that one. i go with the default list.
-
Thank you – found it, tried it, liked it π

Great idea Jeb, I’ve often wished for this feature.
-
@Jeb
Trying out the new filter: once I understood you must use both filters together it worked well.I used it after playing two rounds (so I had rejected letters to populate the gray filter).
Donβt know if this is mandatory but I entered the reject letters on the right filter first. Then I entered βT?β On the left. As soon as one question mark appeared it revealed my options. As a test, I swapped the T for a B and got a different set of options.
Very clever programming. Thank you!
-
I had not thought to use the exclude without the include, but I can change that. I could title the section “Filter: Include and/or Exclude.
Thanks for testing!
-
wow, you the man, jeb! really nice work!
i don’t normally use the block list so did not notice this addition until after playing today and seeing your note. dove back in to take it for a test ride. sweet! and smokin’ quick too! looking forward to using it in realtime.
my vote for the label: less is more and stick with what you have.
the ui is simple and the response to any input is immediate and lightning fast! i’d say it’s pretty straightforward to square up how it works.
i do think placing a simple “/” between the two input boxes would subtly clarify the relationship between the two, mirroring the heading above them.
