Wordle 1,809 3/6
🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ALINE
🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ BASIC
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BASISGuesses 1 & 2 eliminated all other options.
…well, aside from basiJ according to Scordle, but that’s not a word I’ve ever heard of…

Wordle 1,809 4/6*
🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ STEAL
🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ ARSON
⬜🟩🟩🟨⬜ GASSY
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BASISOf all the WL on Wordfinder, I choose one with an N because I thought I heard the letter is frequently used. (Except when it is not.) The next word was to rule out the Y as an option.
-
I chose BASIS simply because it came first alphabetically on my unused words list. 🤷🏻♀️

Interesting method of word selection and as good as any other method I suspect, and it worked!
How can you argue with victory?

Generally N is more common than Y.
Listed in tiers of 5.
E A R O T
L I S N C
U Y D H PN is tier 2. Y is tier 3.
================
However, in my case, after playing ROATE, there were still 16 words containing Y while there were 12 containing N.This lead to my guess of “GAILY” which is an unplayed solution. (So, if I nail it, I get a 2!)
This contains the following letters.. Y-16, L-15, I-14.
I saw the guess of “NAILY” in another post, which could have worked out better, because G only occurs in 9 words. N’s 12 outscores it by 3.
However, “NAILY” isn’t on the 2315 word list.
I could also considered “DAILY” but D only occurs in 4 words. G beats that.

Hey, looks like we’re the GASSY Duo!
If we get one or more others we could be the GASSY Gang. 😁
-
You have to lay off the beans! LOL.
Retrospectively, the combination of gas and arson sounds especially dangerous! ROFL!
-
Perhaps the CHILI from yesterday is to blame for this!

Not seeing anyone. I guess we are the “last gas.”

Wordle 1,809 5/6
🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ Saner
🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ Aptly
⬜🟩🟩🟨⬜ Massa
🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ Basic
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BasisAfter Aptly, the Wordle Solver on the Word Finder site said massa was the only possible word.
After that, I searched for “AS” in the GitHub list of words and skimmed the words with “?AS??” using Jebs filter. Maybe there were many possible answers, but I went with my gut.
-
Don’t know why my gut told me to try previously used basic. 🤔

Wordle 1,809 4/6
⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ROATE
⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ GAILY
⬜🟩🟨🟩⬜ CABIN
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BASISROATE narrowed it down to 38 words.
GAILY narrowed it down to 3 words.
BASIS, CABIN, MAFIA
I didn’t have an S guessed yet, so, I wasn’t going to play BASIS. CABIN had the common B to BASIS. If no B, then MAFIA would have been it (if no ADD or REPEAT)

You’re all wrong. It’s flora, not fauna! Clearly a calla lily. 🙄😉

The deeper question is what does that say about us? (as Sigmund Freud hovers over us as we lay on the couch).

Very good question! I was a wildlife rehabber for a few decades so you’d think I would see the animals as well, but all I could picture was a flower. 🤔

⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ROUTE 322 wl
⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ NAILY 6 wl
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BASISIn retrospect, NAILS would have made a checkmate 3. However, I like the peace of mind with Y eliminated (no time wasted looking for -**y double consonant words). MAFIA crossed my mind briefly, but I had already thought of BASIS. Actually MAFIA was the only other one of the 6 wl that was not a previous solution. Five Forks Forever!

If you set your clock back, you can play “yesterday.” Comes in handy if I forget to play by midnight.
-
Awesome! What was your first word?
-
Yes, after beginning the month with a 4 – i was delighted with my 2 😄
began with SEPIA (which I reinstated after using 7 random starters)
I use that and CLOUT to cover the vowels & some common consonants

All of the foody discussion in yesterday’s After Party made me think I should share http://www.fiveforks.com/katfood/ — another Five Forks Labs project.

Cool! I’m going to try some of these as several look really good!

Yum 😋
a man of many talents Jeb-
My wife (Kat) is the talented cook. I’m just the well-fed geek. This started as a Macintosh Hypercard stack. These are decades of her favorite recipe clippings.
Bon Appétit!

Love me some recipes! Reminds me of my “Recipes” database that I started in the early 90s in FileMaker Pro. Around 2008 I got swayed into thinking FMP was being discontinued and replaced with Bento, so I purchased it and transferred the DB to that, which absolutely sucked. Then, of course, a new FMP came out anyway and they discontinued Bento. 🤦🏻♀️ I still have it stuck in Bento on my old iMac, but am toying with getting the latest FMP and finally switching it back so I can access it on my MacBook. Research must be done first to see how that could even work. I have a few hundred recipes in there so it would be nice to be able to easily access them and the many more I have accumulated since I gave up on Bento.
-
After I started having the Bento problems, I became obsessed with the AllRecipes site. Whenever I needed to find something good to make for Sunday dinners with Dad and sis, that was where I looked. I loved the way they were formatted and there were so many to choose from with helpful reviewer notes and tips. It let you save your favorites and upload your own recipes to a personal database. You could also add your own to the public database, but those had to go through their testing panel before they’d post them. That’s when I found out how full-proof a recipe needed to be for universal use. When you’re cooking your own dishes, you just tweak them as needed on any given day depending on variances in weather, equipment, etc. I got my lasagna recipe posted and the most common complaint it received was that it was too dry, but I never had that problem because I just added more water to the sauce based on how it looked. Despite that, it still became one of the highest rated lasagna recipes on the site! So, long story longer, if you like traditional lasagna where you make your own sauce, go to allrecipes.com and look up Kim’s Lasagna. (Better yet, I’ll add the link below.) Try it and let me know what you think.
Unfortunately, like everything me and recipe-related, it is no longer the amazing full-functioning site it once was, but at least you can still access the posted recipes…for now anyway. Happy cooking!
