Knowing that CHIMP would be an add, I gave it a try anyway. Worked in my favor.

Help me understand difference between an add and an unused word? How to differentiate? Thanks.

      1. Kirstin Avatar

Yes, I have been wondering the same thing.

      2. There are two lists in Wordle:

        1) Possible answers (accepted as guesses.)
        2) Answer candidates.

        #2 is a subset of #1.

Wordle is adding words (slowly) to the lists to expand the pool.

This information was originally pulled from the code base, and over time, people have been able to keep it up to date.

I don’t seek or use this myself because this site is only about past answers which is a byproduct of playing the game.

Using “future” information is a bit spoiler-ish so I discourage publishing it on this site.

This is an After Party, not a Before Party. 😊

    β¬›β¬›πŸŸ©β¬›β¬› DOUSE
    β¬›β¬›β¬›πŸŸ¨β¬› BATCH
    🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CLUMP

Had 7 unused words to consider so used BATCH to help me narrow down to CHUMP. Worked only because a repeat wasn’t used to which I had 2 dozen more that could have worked.

    1. Was guess 2 “CLOMP”?

      1. Yes. I didn’t know there were only 2 left, or I would have tried to think of the other one. And I would have picked CLUMP over CLOMP then. Wordlebot got a 2. It thought of CLUMP.

        1. Tough break.

Next time (in a similar situation), you’ll get it in 2. I’m sure.

        2. It occurs to me that this very thing happened to me the other day.

Instead of guessing CUBIT, I went with QUBIT instead.

I didn’t think of CUBIT at all.

Close, Clank, Clump: I also thought Ms. Bennett would not do a repeat so soon after the one on 4/19/26. I got it down to Climb or Clump: Climb was used 4/4/24.

    1. I expect an ADD around 4/28/26.

“DROID” would be an interesting ADD for 5/4. “May the Fourth be with you!”)

I expect the next repeat on Cinco De Mayo (5/5) for sure. As was pointed out by another poster, repeats have happened on 2/2, 3/3, and 4/4.

She might sneak in a repeat around 4/29/26

Very interesting idea about a possible repeat on 5/5.

With limited choices, I now get twitchy over the notion of another repeat popping up so soon. Most good options by third guess are used. GULCH was best remaining unused option but the G lands outside my third subset of five. Besides, the C is second to the S as best starter letter. Statistics pulled me through today. Sadly, not always the case!

    I tried the following website:
    https://unwordled.com

After filtering the list to show only unused words and omit letters, I chose from the remaining words by instinct. 😊

    1. Hmm. This five forks site indicates LEAST & CHIRP have already been used. Either I did something wrong on the unwordle site, or that site is wrong. πŸ€”

      1. This list is crazy accurate because I have some crazy (and wonderful) helpers keep it that way!

But I like to double check anytime someone points out a possible error. One way is to check Reddit’s Wordle discussion.

Here is the link for CHIRP: link

Here is the link to LEAST: link

        1. Sorry for my ambiguity there. I meant to say that the unwordle site is wrong.

      2. JD even helps me keep my comments accurate! πŸ˜‰

    Wordle 1,767 3/6*

    🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ LEAST
    ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ DOILY
    🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CLUMP

Played in hard mode. Figured it was too soon for repeat word. I chose the second word to use up as many vowels as possible while still being a new word. Thought it could be double letters but without Y that’s less likely.

    1. DOILY is my go-to second word for blanks on Quordle. Weirdly I didn’t even think about it for my blank on today’s Wordle.

    2. Ah, so that’s why I was drawn to the word LEAST today. Now I remember seeing your username before.

      Thank you!

    3. I use a a rotation of starters. I used to use LEAST as a starter until it was an answer. Then I switched to STEAL which is still available. For some reason, I had better luck with LEAST even though the same letters. Position?

For my start word POUCH was a good hardfound unused second word that had all new letters.

I’ll probably forget though unless there is another blank on TREAD in the next few days.

I used SINGS as part of the Meet the Dutch 2 theme: words that have completely different meanings in Dutch. This is the second time I have used ROATE as guess #2. It was a great eliminator today.

  14. Got lucky. Only one possible answer after the second guess.
