That was a fun one. I usually forget that a letter can be used twice in the word. I was trying to review repeats for a while but I’d rather just have fun guessing.

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩CYCLECYCLE has not been Previously Used,
It’s been 10 days; aren’t we due?-
Prev Repeat Next Repeat Days
CIGAR (1689) SQUAD (1704) 15
SQUAD (1704) AWAKE (1708) 4
AWAKE (1708) LINEN (1718) 10
LINEN (1718) GRADE (1730) 12
GRADE (1730) IVORY (1742) 12
IVORY (1742) COMET (1745) 3
COMET (1745) SANDY (1750) 5We’re in “DUE” territory!
-
Since CIGAR, there have been 6 adds (MOOCH, SHRED, HYDRA, GUNKY, OASIS, CAROM) and 8 repeats (SQUAD, AWAKE, LINEN, GRADE, IVORY, COMET, SANDY).
It was trending early on that there would be even numbers of adds and repeats.
If that trend continues, there will be 2 or 3 more adds before another repeat.
Also assumes that an add happens about once every 10 days and a repeat happens once every 10 days also.
I am working on a list of likely adds selected from the 10657 playable words list, but I can only check about 20 words a day on the English Corpora site for word frequency.
Aside from that, it would be interesting if she does a repeat on Cinco De Mayo.
-
Sorry, that’s only 7 repeats. Still I expect 1 more add then before a repeat.
-
There have been 8 repeats, but only 7 “between” repeats, if that’s what you mean. My table only has 7 rows because it is counting between duration.
-
Yes. Exactly. I said since “CIGAR” so I was not including that word, but, essentially, saying the same thing as you.
I’m looking at CIGAR as ground zero for repeats and trying to predict the trend from that point forward.

Two days in a row with the letters L and E. My starting word is LEAST.
-
By brother used LEAST as his starter until it was an answer. STEAL is still available, but he says the statistics don’t work as well even though they are the same letters. He’s using CLASP now. He’s a Wordle stats engineer.
-
In regards to anagrams of LEAST…
STEAL would be better because it puts the S in the first position where it most commonly hits green.
SLATE would probably be even better, but that one has already been played (unless you don’t mind playing the repeat). E is most commonly in the last position.
STALE also been played, but you’re better off with SLATE, because it puts L in the second position.
For LEAST, T is most commonly in the last position. So, it does have that advantage, but there’s a lot of words that start with S.
If you want to go with something that will probably never be the answer in one, you can start with SALET. That would put the S in the first position and T in the last position.
