Newsy was an option … does that sound like a real word to you guys?
Yes, but not quite as common as MESSY.
Commonality is one of the factors that I use to decide which word to pick.

That’s wonderful news. That must give you some peace of mind.
Thank you.
We’ve gone thru a range of emotions but right now, yes, there is hope for the future 😌

For some reason, I mistakenly thought that I had ruled out the letter R, which luckily led me not to think of DRESS, PRESS, or CRESS. I definitely would have chosen DRESS and gotten a 4 had I thought of it.
================================================
Grid art: the invader bee has entered the pygmy HOUSE from a couple days ago and found a very MESSY floor.
================================================
Interestingly, the Bot (with knowledge of past answers enabled) thought that PRESS (PU from 9/19/24) was only ~26% as likely as MESSY or DRESS (NUs).
Yesterday, FORTY (from 3/1/2024) was about ~44% as likely as an NU according to the Bot, so whatever formula it’s using has a pretty significant change even within the year 2024. (Either that, or it’s just counting by integer number of years since the first Wordle game, with March and September being different years in that regard.)
================================================
Side note: do we need a new acronym for the bot with knowledge of past answers enabled? KPABot? PABot? Any other ideas?
BPA, but be careful if comes from a plastic. LOL.
HistoryBot.
K-Bot —simple to remember & a silly nod to K-Pop 🎤🎶🕺🏻…
K🤖 for short for we lazy peeps.
🙋🏼♀️Cousin Ez… I’ve noticed the same thing with the 🤖 analysis, mostly because I was noticing that the 🤖’s probability ratings were more accurate than WB.
The annual periods start in June which is why your 2 words from 2024 have different probabilities. That’s my theory. And, 🤖 probability percentages cannot be compared day to day.
FORTY (PU from 3/1/2024) = 3rd period so rated higher
PRESS (PU from 9/19/24) = 4th period so rated lower
6/21 – 6/22 1st period
6/22 – 6/23 2nd period
6/23-6/24 3rd period
6/24 – 6/25 4th period
6/25 – 6/26 5th period
6/26 – 6/27 6th period ⬅️ we are here!
*We have a couple of anomalies: Sandy and Smile. In that order. Since I love to make up stuff 💩 … ahem, I mean very astute theories… 👩🏻🔬 I have decided that these two words were put there not only to disrupt our high-tier strategies but also as Easter Eggs 🐣 (or inside jokes).
Sandy… since we use golf terms for wordle it is a nod to sand trap.
Smile 😀… smiling at the chaos 🌪️ they have kindly unleashed.
Sandy 🌪️ 😀
⚠️There will be more anomalies/easter eggs/inside jokes! Bring it on tb, we’re ready for you here at the After Party! 🥳
Yes, I thought that might be the case regarding the “periods”! We shall see as I collect more data whether that holds up. It’s also possible that the K-Bot’s repeat penalty is not separated into discreet year “periods,” but gradually diminishes with each day/week/month since the PU’s original use.
Also, you are correct that K-Bot probability percentages are not comparable day-to-day (or even person-to-person), as the exact percentage depends not only on repeat status but also the total number of possible words remaining.
HOWEVER, my analysis above was normalizing the likelihoods to those of NU words, making my numbers comparable day-to-day. In other words, the K-Bot today did not tell me that PRESS had a 26% chance to be the answer. It said that PRESS had an 8% chance to be the answer and that MESSY had a 31% chance. 8/31 = ~26, so therefore, PRESS was only about one fourth as likely as an NU to be the answer.
Ahhh… that’s some pretty fancy mathing 🧮 cuz … heck, I haven’t gone as far as normalizing. I just bold the highest rated words in my lists as an approximation. That has to be good enough for me because that’s all I’m willing to put into it. ⏳ I’m already spending 10 times more time on it than normal, making me Abby Normal.
Watching this video, has helped me see the bigger picture. It’s a thing of beauty even if 4 years old and wordle has changed a lot since then.

⬜⬜⬜🟩🟨 RAISE
⬜⬜🟨🟩🟨 BLESS
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 MESSY – ADD – 58%
On Punctuation Day, Kim will get a 2 for sure!
New pattern for RAISE. Leaves 3 OG NU. BLESS, CHESS and POESY.
Possible ADDs: LOESS (58%), MESSY (58%), NEWSY (57%)
Possible OG 1YR: CHEST #278 (58%), FLESH #53 (58%)
Charting ALL these words vs the OG NU. BLESS edges out CHESS only slightly.
BLESS left only MESSY. CHESS would have worked too.
I like to play chess and so I really wanted that to be the answer. My second guess sheet listed bless though.

Poser ADD was as good a filter as Cress OG. Past ADD patterns suggest that we are going to have a spat of ADDs, so I’m giving ADDs more weight presently.
Things are getting MESSY as we cross the rubicon into a different wordle reality.
Add pattern since EMOJI:
13, 13, 6, 4, 15, 5, 2, 8, 2, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, 2, 3, 1, 7, 2, 3
I’ve been tracking ADDs post CLUNK. I think that’s when it really ramped up.
Yes, I’ll through CLUNK they were sporadic. Two weeks later, the spree started.
there’s an interesting trajectory though going all the way back to ground hog’s day … I have that somewhere in my files. It’s getting a little crazy in those files…

I don’t have a pd NYT subscription, so no access to the Wordle Bot. Based on comments from some of you, the WB has a list of words accepted as Wordle solutions? But it includes words that lists elsewhere online do not include? EG, other sources don’t have newsy or blest as accepted solutions. ???
You can also do a Google search. For example, “Is blest a word accepted by Wordle?” This led to: “Wordle accepts BLEST as a valid guess, though it is not typically used as a daily solution word.”
🙋🏼♀️ Judy, if you play in incognito/private mode, you can use the bot analysis for free. You have to bypass an ad, but it’s free. Then close it out afterwards and you can use it again for free.
You can use this list and x-reference with the FF list.

Sean H was tempted to use blest as his 2nd guess (but he decided it was too obscure) and Charles was tempted to use newsy (which he found on the WB) . I assumed, from the wording of their comments, that they thought those words were possible Wordle solutions, not just guesses. None of you who responded to my question indicate that either word is a possible solution. So I guess I made a wrong assumption about what Sean H and Charles were trying to do.
thanks all
NEWSY yes. 57%. It was on my list.
BLEST is not even listed on WB. So, it is not playable IMHO.
