Of my 24 (2 more than 🤖 claimed) options for my 3rd guess, NIFTY was my obvious choice due to it being such a NIFTY word. Which makes me wonder why it wasn’t on the 2315 List in the first place. 🤔 (Because then it would be the 2316 List. 🤭)
I wish I knew which 22 words 🤖 is referencing. I came up with more than the 24 I chose from, but several were obviously not viable IMO so I whittled it down to 24. Now,
I know this has been❓ before (and probably answered) but how the 🤬 does 🤖 come up with these counts for remaining words? What the 🤬 is on the base list?? How many words are on it??? Anyone else think the list is dynamic? It sure 🤬 seems that way to me. 🤷🏻♀️😤

Great game, but it seems toner isn’t a solve word unless it’s an add. So inconsistent with what they allow to end in ER
As for your question, the WordleBot has a list of words it thinks can be solutions, which is smaller than the list of words that are possible guesses. I assume the “WORDS LEFT” from the bot only includes words on its solution list.
So, you may have come up with some words that are simply not considered to be possible solutions.
It’s not necessarily clear to me if the bot receives the true solution list from TB and team or if it’s just guessing based on word frequency and other factors. But we know that the original game had a set list of solutions, and the NYT has added and removed words since it bought the game.

JD, you got anything? Did I miss a post somewhere with more insight?
JD may know more, but I have always assumed that Wordle Tool’s Weighted Bottle’s list (https://wordletools.azurewebsites.net/weightedbottles) is the totality of the Bot’s solution list.
Of course, that list includes a lot of simple past tense words and others like METRE that I assume will never actually be chosen as solutions.
I don’t know how the “Weights” are calculated exactly, but I assume it has something to do with the base likelihood the WordleBot assigns to them. JD has previously found that the lowest weighted ADD so far is PSHAW at ~40%, so we will see if it ever gets lower than that.

I just added WB to the After Party Glossary under Hints & Tips thanks to JD and doing a deeper dive on it.

You’re probably right about the WB list. It was extracted from Wordle Bot itself.
We should also realize that WB list a dynamic list.
So, NYT may add or remove words from this list at their discretion.
I think that’s also why the number of total words varies from time to time. Tina asks questions about that all the time.
Right so PSHAW has the lowest WB% (40%) of the ADDs that have been played so far.
To me, that means any word with WB% score equal or greater than PSHAW is in play for sure.
The interesting thing is that the tier drop off starts at 37%. Rapidly drops to 2%.
The word on the end of that list is METRE. I agree with Ez. I don’t think that word gets played for the same reasons FIBRE was removed early on.
So, what word is the WB% cut off point? That’s what I’m trying to ascertain.

I had a cousin from Texas, where people were often want to use both first and middle names. I’d known his name for 15 or so years and simply knew him by the double nomenclature. But the first time I casually mentioned him to my (then to be) wife she laughed for a good minute before she could get me to realize what my ears had been missing for the previous decade and a half. His name was Hugh Morris.

HOTLY has become my standard burner word for this pattern playing high frequency letters OLTY.

What do the numbers you listed beside the words indicate? And where do you find them? The Bot?
(Obviously, I’m not a subscriber.)
I believe they indicate the number of possible answers left. At least that’s what mine mean. They come from WordleBot’s analysis of each of your guesses.
Remaining possible correct answers per the Wordle Bot after each guess. I found out after the game is completed and click on See Results. I use the NYT games app, and also do crosswords
When you are curious how well your words are “filtering” to an answer, you can run your guess through WordleBot or Scoredle.com (free.)
You can use NYT WordleBot free two ways:
1. Open an Incognito or Private window and play your game again.
2. Use the “Hide Distracting Items…” feature in Safari to disappear the cover ad. It’s a learning curve. Requires an extension with Chrome.

But LINTY gives 39 unique solutions out of 96 NUs, while UNITY gives slightly fewer, with 37.
To be more specific:
LINTY gives 39 different ⬜🟩🟨color combinations of which 20 are unique
UNITY gives 37 different ⬜🟩🟨color combinations of which 18 are unique
With 96 NU, there is a 21% chance for correct 3rd choice with LINTY and 19% with UNITY
I haven’t made the calculations for the 146 PUs, as yet 🙁

As an engineer, I worked on a DIY, simple and effective mousetrap (Patent pending): You place a razor blade into a slit in a small wooden board and put a piece of cheese on one side.
The mouse will come and happily eat the cheese.
You do that for several days so the mouse returns every night expecting a treat.
But on day 13, there is no cheese. Maybe it’s on the other side. The mouse looks over the razor blade and disappointedly shakes its head, “No cheese today” thereby slicing its throat.
As a biologist, I got a cat!!
