  3. Jeb, is there a way to share images?

I just created a line graph of all the original puzzle numbers of all 23 REPEATs. It’s pretty interesting.

21 of 23 of the REPEATs are indeed first year REPEATs (<= Puzzle 364).

    but also.

19 of the 23 of the REPEATs are less than Puzzle number 200.

I have a png of this.

The New York Times Acquisition (January/February 2022): The New York Times purchased Wordle on January 31, 2022, for a low seven-figure sum. The game officially migrated over to NYT servers on February 10, 2022 (around Puzzle #236).

      Jan 31, 2022 was actually puzzle #226.

      Feb 10, 2022 was puzzle #236.

So, <= to #236 is significant.

Please don’t tempt us to sully this format by making it easy to post images to it. This forum will become overrun with reaction gifs and still images from some of the most random movies. … And that’s just from me! 😁

        3. That worked! I think providing the public links is a good way to provide complex reporting information vs trying to load here as images.

I’ve been arbitrarily considering “year 1” which would be a bit higher than the take over date.

After looked up this date in 1963 in Wikipedia, then the spangram jumped out at me.

    I’m so happy to get a 3 after 5-5-4.

    RAISE leaves 19 OG words.

BETEL is still the perfect filter since there are 5 words that start with B including BEECH, BETEL, BEZEL, BONEY and BOWEL. 10 words with EE. 11 words with an L. Only 5 words with a T.

BETEL ruled out all the OG words.

    So, what’s left?

    TWEEN – 58%
    TWEED – #121
    TWEET – #1769

    40% chance of an ADD
    8% chance of a REPEAT

    So, the choice is clear.

*Can’t kick myself too much after yesterday and almost no sleep…

Talk about a Planes, Trains, and Automobiles disaster. On a 400-mile road trip to Chicago for a BTS concert, my car completely died. With the local dealership booked solid, the kids and I ended up hitchhiking in the backseat of a pickup truck with two MAGA guys we met at a Casey’s gas station, who drove us an hour away to get a rental. We arrived at Soldier Field in total gridlock surrounded by 60,000 frantic fans, so I ordered the kids to ditch the car and sprint through traffic to the gates. It was like reliving my 20s hitchhiking through Europe—just with more K-Pop.

    1. Reminds me of one of Rich Hall’s Sniglets!

What a crazy story! Chicago traffic can be really bad. I’m somewhat of an expert on it after living in this area for 37 years. Hope you’re all back home safe!

I am honored to show up in the Cast of Characters of this play/sitcom/performance art we didn’t realize we were making!

I’m surprised ChatGPT didn’t single out Kralc’s bayou /pirate persona.

        1. I asked ChatGPT about kralc:

What initially looks like random eccentricity is actually a pretty consistent persona.

His posts have several recurring elements:
          – “the creek” — he almost invariably begins his Wordle with a fictional trip “down at the creek.”
          – Golf metaphors — “tap in,” “twofer,” “deuce,” “bird,” “eagle,” “putt,” “never up, never in.”
          – Pirate language — “aye, mateys,” “arrr,” 🏴‍☠️, “walk the plank.”
          – The Powers That Be / PTB — his name for the people/algorithm choosing the Wordle answers.
          – Pete and Repeat — his running gag for repeated Wordle answers.
          – Wordleology — his tongue-in-cheek name for the increasingly elaborate analysis everyone does on Five Forks.
          – Excessive emoji and deliberately mangled spelling — “sweeeet,” “wut?!,” “fo’ schizzle,” etc.
          – And, increasingly, little surreal stories built around that day’s Wordle.

This isn’t something that appeared overnight. By May he was already giving detailed technical feedback to jeb about the Dynamic Filter, including actually testing its behavior and reporting a roughly two-second refresh delay.

Then he became increasingly integrated into the After Party.
For example, on June 27 he described his solving process as starting “down by the creek,” using the Five Forks filter, checking the original word list, considering scamp and ultimately choosing scoop. He got it in 2.

          There’s also an interesting evolution:
          – By July, other players had started recognizing the “kralc” mythology.
          – On July 8, someone referred to the After Party as a place for “nerdy wordleologists,” and kralc immediately responded:
          “it’s wordleology i tell ya…”
          – Another commenter then specifically called the Five Forks community a gathering of “nerdy wordleologists,” and kralc responded that she had “already got the gist of it.”

wow! this is soooo fun. I did ask chatgpt to create the cast of characters in detail and then the short version. This is the…

        **very short version**:

        * **Jeb — The Mayor:** Runs Five Forks, keeps the records, knows everyone’s history, and welcomes new people.
        * **JD — The Analyst:** Spreadsheet brain. Statistics, letter patterns, probabilities, RAISE, and Wordle theory.
        * **Christine the Benevolent Slater in EZ Mode — The Social/Analytical Hub:** Data, WordleBot, jokes, grid art, pop culture, and somehow responding to everybody.
        * **kralc — The Bard:** Creek stories, surreal prose, weird humor, and 🤯. Nobody quite knows where a kralc comment is going.
        * **Mike S — The Riffer:** Pop-culture references and grid-art jokes; excellent at taking someone else’s joke one step further.
        * **LEAST was a genius word — The Observer:** Thoughtful, analytical, supportive, and often right there when an interesting Wordle question comes up.
        * **Kim S — The Editor:** Cheerleader + terminology police. “Actually, that’s an initialism.” 😉
        * **Glenda M — The New Zealand Correspondent:** Arrives while everyone else is asleep and occasionally reminds the Americans that she’s living in the future.
        * **Meg — The Australian:** Adds the Australian perspective and joins the international/time-zone crew.
        * **Sven — The Engineer:** Naturally gravitates toward the nerdiest possible word.
        * **Judy S — The AROSE Woman:** AROSE is her thing. Everyone knows it.
        * **Jack K — The Veteran:** Long streaks, milestones, institutional seniority.
        * **ADK — The Strategist:** Hard Mode, themed starters, and a strong “new word > PU word” philosophy.

        **The three centers of gravity:**

        **Jeb = the infrastructure**
        **JD = the brains**
        **Christine = the social glue**
And **kralc = the chaos agent.**

        That’s basically the After Party.
