Tried a new first word.
#1 GLARE – Wow! First letter locked in! It looks like the R should be the second letter. Is the L the last letter? The vowels A and E are eliminated. The last three words had the letter I in them. I can think of a word that starts with GR and ends with L that has an O in it. Let’s try it.
#2GROWL – Ooh! Three green letters. But the O was eliminated. I went to the filter tool for help. Put in GR??L and got GRAIL #863 and GRUEL #423. With A and E eliminated neither of those would work and only GRUEL could be a possible repeat. It must be another word with the letter I. There’s only one I can think of…
#3 GRILL – That’s the one. Another I word…🙄 -

🎣 got a bite on the rrr today right out of the gate. dug the toolbox out for candidates, ignoring the defcon 5 re-pete warning.
picked array ‘cuz i like the word as i imagine all you chart heads do (😉 you know who you are). 🔕 🔕🔕 not only negative but not even a yeller. 🥜 a total bust!
settled on druid next as a word that has some street cred. 🔕🔕🔕 denied! …though i did hit on a an i.

Read and reread this post.
Great info. I admire your diligence. I understand most of it. Can’t grasp what the numbers mean, tho. For example; SLATE is 260 Green Score. 260/466?
Maybe, I shouldn’t admit that I don’t understand the ratio. Will it be a ‘DUH!’ moment for me? Cripes.-
SLATE has a green score of 266.
This means that if the remaining 466 words get played, you’ll get 266 green squares that will light up. This means getting a letter in the correct position.
This doesn’t necessarily mean a green square in 266 different words, because if you get 2 or 3 greens in the same word. Then there will be more words with no green at all. It can still be a yellow (letter in the wrong position); so, not getting a green is not the end of the world.
I value getting more yellows even if it means fewer greens.
Most return patterns worst case is matching no letters at all. This results in the largest pool of possibilities.

That is why I am trying to match letters in as many words as possible.
Even matching one letter in the wrong position can narrow down the number of possibilities by a lot.

Not many seesaws left in the US these days.
Like the floppy-disc ‘Save’ button, and the gas pump icon being used in electric cars, the role of the seesaw has been relegated to road signs indicating playgrounds nearby that more likely than not do not have a seesaw.
