    2. You messed up again! LOL.

I want to see if there is anyone out there who plays “Wordle Chicken”.

This would be intentionally solving the puzzle in 6 guesses without losing (using different words every round).

I think this would be pretty hard to do! (especially in Hard mode).

  9. There’s gonna be an ADD or a REPEAT pretty soon. More likely an ADD.

Odds on REPEATs are 11.4% (1 every 9 days). It’s been 6 days since the last REPEAT (FLUME).

Odds on an ADD are 31.4% (1 every 3 days). It’s been 11 days since the last ADD (ALOHA).

    1. Glenda M Avatar

Yes, I was anticipating that with my 3 choices on Tuesday……

      1. Since, the collective ODD’s of ADD’s and REPEATs added together is still 43%, the ODD’s of it not happening are %57 which is still better than even.

I would still play the game like that isn’t going to happen on a given day.

Rule out the common unplayed words. Then, when there are none left, guess the ADD or first year REPEAT. It’s more likely to be an ADD.

        1. Glenda M Avatar

Ah, I do like using non-list words JD (more interesting to me) TB it seems favours the repeat …..

What a difference matching 2 letters in the wrong position vs 1 makes.

I in the wrong position left 38 words. I and S in the wrong position leaves 7 words.

From there SILKY, SIXTY and WISPY are reasonable filters giving me a 3 in all but 2 cases.

POSIT wouldn’t have worked for eliminating S words ending in Y above.

Hi Elaine! I do not have or use a list of NU words. I start with the OG list of 2,315 words that the NYT gave us way back in the beginning of time. I used to rely on my notes to filter out used words until I discovered FF a few weeks ago!

I’m sure there’s a list somewhere out there, though.

      1. 🥸 Christine Avatar
        🥸 Christine

Thanks JD. I posit that in the somewhat near future, we’ll all have to change our processes. I think there’s a big change a comin’…

I don’t see how TB can go on like this throwing in a few ADDs here and there and repeating the past. It’s just unprofessional and sloppy.

Do you agree or am I just making up shit?

        1. What is happening is that she is trying to extend the current list, because there are fewer than 500 words left on a word list that was originally 2315 words.

I think she is weighing how difficult the game is.

If didn’t introduce REPEATs or ADDs, then this game will eventually get too easy for those of us who know they don’t repeat.

So, as the original word list decreases, she will gradually increase the number of ADD’s and REPEATs to increase the possible pool of answers.

I don’t think it will be a revolutionary change, but more of a gradual one.

If the number of REPEATs or ADDs reach close to a %50 rate, I’ll probably change my personal answer pool to include one or the other.

My method would stay the same.

          1. 🥸 Christine Avatar
            🥸 Christine

Thanks JD! Yeah… I know the why. I just can’t see how her method is going to play out as is … but I repeat myself, which is, alas, boring. 🤓

Hey, I so agree—I’m keeping my method the same for now. The odds are with us.
