I’ve recently been looking at batik motifs for design inspiration so MOTIF was a quick and lucky guess! I think I’ll try BATIK as a starter tomorrow.

RAISE leaves 38 possibilities. This is the worst pattern for RAISE. I in the wrong position.
First time I got this pattern with this word. There haven’t been a lot of I words lately. This just makes it more possible.
I decided on LINTY as a filter because of the number of words with Y(16), T(14), L(13). N is only 6.
I also wanted to rule out or in I in the second position. Let’s call it I2.
LINTY leaves only MOTIF, OPTIC, and VOMIT
So, of course I had to guess the word with P in it OPTIC.
OPTIC leaves only MOTIF because of T3.
I also considered HOTLY. That would have given me a 3.

Linty is a great guess, idc if the bot says it’s “unlikely” it’s better than MUFTI apparently being in the list…
LINTY is a very unlikely ADD, but it did at least give me the T and rule out I2.
I find it interesting that most people had a choice between MOTIF and VOMIT.
I also have OPTIC, but I only see one other person who had that one as an answer.
I would have chosen MOTIF over VOMIT if I had thought of it!
I probably would have too if OPTIC wasn’t an option.
It would have come down to a “F” vs. a “V” as the tiebreaker.
F is slightly more common than V.
Both are low probability letters in case it was some other word.

For whatever it’s worth, so far there have been 25 answers starting with MO; 3 of those started with MOT not counting today; 8 answers started with VO and none started with VOM. Based on that, it seemed like Motif had slightly better odds of being the answer.
