Trying different strategies lately like not using the obvious letters as much. It makes it more fun.

Great idea!
But obviously still successful.
I think it would be better exercise for your grey matter too.

π§π§π§π§π§STEAL, RHINO left 9 possible, 6 were used. Among BOOTH, BOTCH, QUOTH, I was lucky.
-
you have been doing well π – would love to know how your solve % is tracking this month…..
-
My solve % is perfect this month (and much longer than that — my streak would be 1495 today if not for a technical problem that didn’t register #1273).
My average this month (through 7/21) is 2.90
-
Ah – I thought it would be pretty good – lets hope that continues.
Shame about the streak !! (par for the course with glitches….)

β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬ RAISE
β¬β¬β¬β¬β¬ PUDGY
π©π©π©π©π© BOOTHRAISE leaves 34 words.
PUDGY leaves only BOOTH.
There are a lot of words ending in Y.
============================
RAISE on the operating table. He flat lined.-
I overlooked BOTCH. LOL.
Good thing I didnβt see it!
I would have played OO in BOOTH anyway.
-
Itβs pretty cool to get it with no known letters!
RIP RAISE -
Why am I seeing comments lately about predicting double letters?
-
BOOTH, LEGAL, BUTTE all have double letters.
Interrupted by PSHAW and STEAK.
STOUT, CLACK, AVIAN, CANAL had double letters.
Maybe, groups of 4?

π©π©π©π©π© BOOTHMy strategy is to solve as fast as possible (in Hard Mode) by cross checking whether the word was PU. Then I chip away at using up other vowels as long as the words havenβt been used.
γ°οΈγ°οΈγ°οΈγ°οΈγ°οΈ
Interesting observation about the Bot today. Even though it said it had knowledge of previous games, the first 3 words it chose were PU: SLATE, FORTH, YOUTH.It must be on holiday!
-
Interestingly, my bot played SLATE/FOUND/BOOTH (not forth).
-
Now I am thoroughly confused and questioning the math behind the Bot.
Those with more mathematical minds- any idea why the BOTβs guesses vary with the three of us?
-
Is yours what the bot played during play or the final score? That might be the difference.
Mine is the final score.
-
Iβm reporting the Botβs final score. As an aside, I think itβs odd that it tells you what words it would play during play, but then it reveals that it played completely different ones when comparing the final score.
Maybe there are two botsβ¦ a renegade one and a serious one. π
-
I think that during play the bot reveals what it would play if it had the same words that you selected as a basis. For the final answer it displays how it would have solved the puzzle independently from your guesses – but I could be wrong
-
I absolutely agree with Charles. Nothing else makes sense
-
LOL. Not during play, but during the analysis of my play, actually. Then at the end of the analysis it shows what the bot would have payed.
-
Even more accurately explained by Christine.
When you think about it you might have five guesses and the bot tells you five times what it would have done. Then at the end the bot might have only three words of what it would have done independently of you.
-
-
-
Why doesnβt the Bot play the same words? Is there a random function built into the algorithm?
-
with prior knowledge toggled on, it played FOUND with it toggled off it played IRONY.

π©π©π©π©π© BOOTH-
Just realized I reused R.. maybe only the 3rd time Iβve done this where I reuse a gray on accident. I play what I thought was hard mode without actually selecting hard mode. But I always try to do what I guess is dubbed βultraβ mode. Basically only try to only make guesses that can solve. And then I use the list to check repeats if I need. (Do you know how many times METAL or STONE would make great guesses?β¦ a lot)
I guess I wasnβt paying attention, but at least WORTH isnβt a repeat, I wouldnβt make that mistake so easily.
Donβt play at 2am I guess-
I like βultraβ too.
And random first words.
Not sure of the value of checking for repeats as they are sometimes used.
-
-
-
How are y’all putting your guesses and solution into the comment here? I tried Scordle but couldn’t figure out how to choose the format and copy it.
-
Judy,
After solving Wordle look for the “See Results” button to see stats.
Look for the green “Share” button.
Click on that and it copies the grid to your clipboard.
Go to Five Forks Wordle and paste it into a new comments post.
You can optionally type in your answers to the right of each row.
Getting the “Words Left” requires WordleBot or Scordle.I tend to compose all of this in a text editor or Apple Notes and then copy and paste it all into a new post. That helps avoid typos.
Welcome to the After Party!

Ah, I’ve been playing without registering and signing in, so that wasn’t an option. I just created a free account (and hope it stays free). thanks!

Lately I’ve completely changed my ‘find the vowels’ method of play, and gone on a single vowel (no double letters) theme
Which led me to tot up those on my nu list – 1/3 are single vowel, tho over 1/2 contain a Y (6th vowel) & 12 have double consonants, 4 are not on the list
I had to delete sythe (apparently an obsolete spelling – replaced by scythe) oh yeah, non-phonetic – that makes sense (not)…..β¬β¬π¨β¬π© DITCH
β¬π©β¬π©π© WORTH
π©π©π©π©π©didn’t dig myself in too deep

Well done.
I am interested in the single vowel technique.
On second line I have been going for maximum vowels.-
Its more a theme than a strategy, but I’m enjoying the change (and benefiting too – Sundays solve)
-
-
You had a vowel movement
-
Hehe!
-
π
-
Omg that’s funny
-
-
I love it!
-
I find the search for vowels to be a bit overrated. Thatβs why I donβt start with adieu or audio
-
Thanks JD – I began after the PSHAW @#%*! on Wednesday perversely…. and, perhaps as a poke at our curmudgeonly bear, to elicit some acerbic commentary (to no avail)
I’ve used 5 since & am enjoying this game – had another lined up for today but it’s pu.Happy accurate, inspired ( oh, what the heck – lucky!) wordling π
-
Your heavy consonant strategy reminds me of my strategy for Quordle (four Wordle’s at the same time).
I use.
CRAMP, FLINT, BUDGE and SHOWY as my four starter words.
It plays 20 of the most common of the 26 letters. Sometimes, I don’t have to play BUDGE or SHOWY and I can solve Quordle in 6 or 7 guesses. Usually, I get it in 8 guesses.
Have you ever played Quordle? It’s quite fun.
-
my old wordle buddies (I don’t discuss with since the word ‘cheat’ was aired re: FiveForks) told me about this – I considered it after the repeat words came into play, but thought I may find that even more addictive
I will check it out π

Are you a subscriber Meg? Is that how you get the number of words left?
-
I do pay $3 a month.
I play using the website.
Wordle Bot tells me how many Wordle words are left but only after I have solved the puzzle. -
You can play as a guest for free and the bot will analyze your play for free, too, giving the number of words left. Paying makes it so NYT will save your games and stats. I donβt know the benefit, however, of signing up for a free account-that is new since I last looked.
-
You can only do the Bot analysis 2 or 3 times on free mode before they start asking you for money.
-
Just go into a private tab. There was a time where this didnβt work randomly for 2 weeks, but were like a year and half past that.
