I used to use them on Chicago El until someone told me a french nickel (worth less than a penny!) was the exact same size and it worked!

Token is big in geek land right now. It is the “base unit” of billing for A.I. compute. As in, “You blew the budget when you exceeded your token quota, Steve.”
Also: “As a token of his appreciation, JD drove two bales of hay over to Tracy’s farm.”

I’ve used tokens within the last couple of years. I have a token in my wallet for an arcade my cousin owns.
JD, is ‘French nickel’ slang for something, or were you stocking up on foreign currency?

This was before the Euro.
They called them “centimes” in France.
I guess 20 of them would be a Franc (once the unit of currency over there.)
I think I still have a bag of them somewhere. LOL.

hmmm…not sure what the bot’s been smokin’ 🤔
i ran it through wordsrated’s wordle solver and with e in the fourth slot and the k not in the fifth it only had six contenders, and the df finished off a few of those. ⚡️

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩With 14 left I eliminated PU words, but still had 5 or 6 I thought of as possibles.
I then set aside double E and double T words like TENET for later, and then ruled out past tense words ending in ED like TONED.
That left me with the answer, but I was really lucky because it very well could have been any of the others.-

I was saying that of the 14 remaining I still had about a half dozen unused words to sift from (TOKEN was one of them), and had to use other criteria besides used or not to decide what to go with… and I got lucky-
