Despite my 4 today (again), I am happy that it was an ADD and not a REPEAT.
According to Wordle Tools, there are 2 or 3 more ADD’s coming in the next 30 days.
It’s been a bit slower than the initial 1 in 10 since CIGAR was the first repeat.
Per yesterday’s conversation, I expect another REPEAT around June 1-3. I am not sure if there will be another one before that.

Same pattern as DUSTY several days ago. Thought of IDIOT, but it seems purely pejorative so kept thinking on it.
My 2s are now gross. π

Good Job!
-
Impressive!
-
We started with the same word but had decidedly different outcomes.
-
Not dismissing anyone else’s play style, as I’m impressed with everyone’s effort, but I play with the Five Forks list as my only assist.
Sometimes I luck out with what doesn’t come to mind. Sometimes I don’t.
Today DITCH just didn’t occur to me before DIVOT. And I’m a sucker for words with V. π … I did think of DIGIT, but held off even though it was a first year word.
Apparently this is my balance day for VISIT when mine was the only 4 with everyone getting 3s and 2s.
-
I use the Five Forks list and Merriam. I’ll can load it with a misspell like “ZANDY” and see what other andy words it might suggest.
But the new filter has replaced some of that like ?ANDY.
-
I will look up definitions on Ecosia occasionally, just to check my spelling.
I’m always careful to have ‘definition’ typed in first before the word I’m checking. A couple of times long ago I’ve typed a word into Google and then saw its auto reccomend list included ‘(my word) wordle’. … Pretty much a spoiler at that point. I learned my lesson.

β¬π©π©π©π© PIVOT
π©π©π©π©π© DIVOTGood for you Tracy! You found an ADD and not a REPEAT.
ROATE left me 10 unplayed options from the 2315 list.
INGOT should have left me one option in every case but OUTGO and THONG.
PIVOT should have been my 3.
DIVOT was the only word left. Its not on the 2315 list and hasnβt been played before and so, itβs an ADD.
Annoyingly, my 3rd 4 in a row.
========================
The image looks like another gentle sloping hill in (reverse from yesterday) with 3 bees.-
I just figured out that I would have gotten in 3 even if the answer was OUTGO or THONG, because the “N” in “INGOT” is in THONG and it’s not in OUTGO. So, NGOT vs GOT.

I’ve been sick for two weeks and I think it shows. I forgot to add my word sequence:
Saner
Doily
Ditto
DivotAfter doily, the word finder site said only one word left. I forgot to check whether it’s previously used. After ditto, the word finder had zero suggestions for me.
-
There probably was only one word left.
DIVOT isnβt on the 2315 list
-
To which word finder site are you referring?
P.S. Hope you feel better soon!

-
Thank you!

When using Word Finder with “Filter by Common Words” on, there are often possible Wordle solutions in “Other Results,” which is where DIVOT was hiding. I’ve learned this the hard way.
Something else I’ve run into…
If you click “Update” and get no results, always click “Update” a 2nd time to be sure.
Then recheck the unused letters to make sure you have the correct letters. Several times I found I had put the wrong letters there.

SALET chosen by Prof. MikeEven if it were not closely associated with my least favorite sport, I would never have chosen DIVOT before PIVOT. Satisfied with fourfer. No PU words used; still relying on FF. According to WordleTools, DIVOT was added after NYT bought Wordle.
Good βοΈ/π to all!-
just curious: golf or polo?
-
The one that is spelled backwards FLOG, very appropriately IMO.
I don’t know enough about polo to truly dislike it because it does not receive as much exposure in the US, but I hope horses are not being mistreated π-
with you on the mistreatment issue. i would like to believe they are well cared for as it is a sport of those who can afford that care.
the only reason i have any knowledge of polo divots is (like so many other tie-ins wandering around in my brain) the scene in pretty woman where julia roberts and richard gere go out for the stomping of the divots at the polo match halftime.
-
-
-
How do you know that?
-
Iβm not sure what youβre referring to here.
-
You just stated: “According to WordleTools, DIVOT was added after NYT bought Wordle.”
Can you share the link to the article that makes this claim? Do you know what other words were added?
My whole strategy is based on that 2315 list (which is really 2309 because of the 6 words that were removed.) There are multiple articles regarding these 6 words. I never came across anything to suggest words were added to the solution list.
If words were added, I want to find out what they are.
Thanks in advance!
-
https://wordletools.azurewebsites.net/CheckWordListsForChanges
https://wordletools.azurewebsites.net/AddedSolutions(Don’t worry Jeb, there are no spoilers in the above links.)
So, from what I can figure out, they claim to know about 43 words that were added. 39 were the ones up to TOADY which were already played. DIVOT would make 40.
Without DIVOT on the list, they claimed that 3 were yet to be played, but if you do the math from TOADY, then 2 are yet to be played.
There is nothing to suggest on the site that these were added to the 2315 list “at the time that NYT bought Wordle from Josh Wardle”.
However, they do indicate that they can see out to puzzle 1834. This means that NYT Wordle lists the answers 30 days in advance since today was puzzle 1804.
Per the Today show video, she said that they would be figuring out the answers “a couple of weeks in advance”. Turns out to be more like 4 weeks (plus 2 days). Actually it’s a month.
I still believe she is, in fact, adding these words ad hoc (as the puzzle evolves). There just happen to be 2 or 3 ADDs in the list up to puzzle 1834 (depending on which note you believe).
I think these guys a figuring this out by looking directly into the WORDLE code and seeing the exact list of answers.
The thing is that no one knows (but the NYT and people who have peered into the code).
I think they are not going to stop at 3 ADDs and be done with it. That’s how I read it.
It does confirm my theory of about 1 ADD every 10 days. (Maybe fewer).
For me, I don’t want to know what these 2 or 3 words are.
If they had added 200 or so ADD’s back in June 2021, then I would have been interested. Also, I think all the GitHub data would have been different. Those lists were generated the same way Wordle Tools is giving these numbers.
So, I don’t think these were added on purchase of Wordle. The evidence doesn’t bear it out.

JD,
For further explanation, the following linkhttps://wordletools.azurewebsites.net/About
tells how WordleTools has been developed by Mike Moran and Martin Spencer and gives an email address to contact them. Also a link to their Facebook group about WordleTools.
Their work is pretty much beyond my ken, but Iβm sure they would welcome a contact from you.
