When I was little, we had a dog (Chesapeake Bay Retriever) named Chuck.
When I met my now-husband, I learned that he’d had a cat named Chuck.

Awe. I used to have a squirrel name Chuck. She was wild, but she would come by every day and eat peanuts on my lap.

Thats great! Also have a “pet” wild squirrel who cuts the large and heavy atlantic cedar cone off the tree in our front yard and then half buries them in the flower pots on our back deck. He digs them up and eats them all winter. I have been trying to think of a name. Chuck it is!

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 ChuckAfter looking over the answers for the past week or so, I use the top 10 letters in Wordle answers for my first 2 guesses. After the 2nd guess today, there were 4 choices, 3 of which had been used including one used in ‘26. Chuck could rule in/out the other 2. I was glad to get a 3 even though a first guess starting with C would have been better.

If you did that, what would your 2 guesses have been?
Congrats on the 3. There have been few today.

If I had started with Crane, my second guess would have been Toils – covering the 10 most common letters in Wordle answers. That would have led to a choice of 2 instead of 3 viable answers.

HASTE then HASTY were my start words for a long time. I still like to root out SH, TH, CH, WH, and the rare PH words when I can.
Fortunately SHUCK was previously used, as that was my first thought for the third guess.
*(Memory triggered by today’s title: My favorite hide and seek spot for me when my children were much younger was sitting on top of the washing machine watching them walk past me without looking up. 😊)

That’s a good one! All the neighborhood kids used to play at night and my best spot was in the bed of my Dad’s truck under a tarp. I just kept using it over and over because they never found me and wouldn’t see me come out either so they couldn’t figure out where I was hiding. Ahh, the simple times.

Can you tell me what trips the “awaiting moderation” response in comments? I’m guessing “too long.” This happened to me yesterday.-
1. Use of a different email address. Once approved it is auto-approved in future.
2. Use of multi URLs (something spammers do). One of your comments had multiple links. That’s fine to do, and I usually approve them quickly.

This is the point where I don’t guess a double letter when it’s not already in the puzzle (@Jack).
So, of course the double letter word is the answer after guessing 15 letters out of 26 total.

I am impressed at the 3’s. I always play Hard Mode but today it felt like Easy mode because few letters were being revealed.
