But you got a 2!
That’s excellent in my book!
I have a long history of second guess failures myself.
Trust your instincts!

I know. Iβm happy with the 2, but another 1 would be nice; itβs been so long!
I have been reminded to trust my instincts since grammar school (βYour first guess is usually the right answer!β), but I am rarely able to do that. Especially when time affords me further thought. I assume my neurodivergence is to blame.

β¬π©π¨β¬β¬ ROATE
π©π©π©π©π© VOCALSo, there were only 4 choices.
GONAD – Did Tracy miss this one? She removed FETUS last minute. Will history repeat? It would have been on yesterdayβs list if it werenβt on the 2315 list.
MOCHA
VOCAL
ZONAL
Guessing VOCAL would have led to any of the other 3 (barring an ADD or a REPEAT)
I got lucky.

I finally discovered why you use roate as a starter. Had to Google as it fails to appear in any standard reference but is noted as best wordle starter. Along with other variants such as orate & oater, none are as good due to the r being a superior starter letter, though it is ranked as never going to be a 1/6 solve. My only issue is the three vowel notion vs. a two vowel since most 5 letter words with only two vowels far outnumber any other combination. For this reason I prefer using the A & E combo, (#’s 1&2 most common,) and substituting the #6 L for the #5 O. In the end it probably doesn’t matter as the difference in ranking is slight but I’m personally more comfortable killing off a vowel for a common consonant. Plus, later is burned so I’m not going for a solve in one and can pick up two new vowels in my second attempt if needed. But if my current streak ends tomorrow I’m switching later for scion since it is a solve candidate.

On the 2nd day that I played, I looked it up myself.
The guys who analyzed the 2315 list said that ROATE gave you the βbest averageβ; so, Iβve playing that word ever since.
They also recommended words like AROSE and ARISE.
Then, I base the second word based on the pattern I get back from playing ROATE.
I figure out the words that are likely to remain from each pattern. Calculate the most common letters amongst the remaining solutions.
Then, I select the best word from the remaining solutions containing the most used letters.
If the word list is 18 or less, Iβll chart guess two vs those solutions to see if the guess will lead me to the most solutions.
With that info, guess 2 is preplanned.
Although, I know I canβt get in one, I have a chance of two and I get in three far more than I get it in four.
The only thing is that Iβm locked into this word (ROATE), because my entire spreadsheet is based on that word.
It would take a lot of work to change to a word like ORATE.
Iβll see if I can find that article and post it here.

I couldnβt find the original article by searching, but these are close.
Iβll have to look at my spreadsheet when I get home. I have a tab dedicated to research on WORDLE and QUORDLE.
The text is just way too small on my phone and I canβt do the pinchy thing.
Maybe, Iβll try a screen capture.

To Least is a genius word:
Iβm sorry to take so long to answer your question from the other day (@ADK Iβm curious if Wordle allows different words based on the country. Iβm learning many new words through your gameplay: Reast and Enrol (US adds an L).)I was writing a long involved answer but I think a few links would do:
Here is ENROL:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/enrol
I think it is more often spelled with one L in British English, but I could not find that plainly stated. Here is REAST:
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/reastItβs the same game for every country, so native speakers of British English (and those around the world who learned that version) have a special challenge with American English – so many different spellings. Many words have more than five letters in British English : like HONOUR and LABOUR.
As far as the different Wordle lists and other information go, I recommend WordleBot F.A.Q.
