At some point, I lost the plot. I have no idea anymore if gnu=NU (never used) or if gnu=new. Sometimes also gnu=knew. Perplexing. 🤔

Already battling disgust at the repeat issue, two days ago I searched and found an option I am transitioning towards, 6wordle. Same as original so far and fairly new at 203 games. No burned words list yet. May need a six forks page added? But after today’s frustration, I’m committed to moving on after my current streak of 1060 eventually ends. It’s returning the original challenge and fun, sans all the repeat and analysis paralysis involved in today’s game. Curious to see how original wordle evolves. Or desolves! Eventually wordle will melt into a free for all guessing game with repeats commonplace , or will evolve. I’m thinking creators need restrictions like no repeats sooner than one every 20 games. That’s my thought on it all!

I hope it’s a more fun game for you.
What if they just dump all the words-never used, repeats, and adds-all together and start over. Words that were just chosen last month could win tomorrow, but who cares? All words treated equally and a fresh clean slate every single day. No analysis would help so there would be no paralysis. Every day is a lottery day.
I agree. Every day is random including a remote chance of the same word back to back. Or maybe a 30 day time-out because that would send some over the cliff.
The need for Five Forks lists would dry up *but* I’d maintain the archive if only for curiosity.
Oh no, that is absolutely not true. We’d still need five forks for the probability factor and The After Party must continue!
Actually, I think what I proposed would be the death knell of Wordle. 🪦🔔 One of the reasons it’s so popular is because it’s hard to lose—average 97-98% of all players win. This would decidedly not be the case with my (fake) proposal above.
You make a lot of sense Jack k. I like the part about it being less aggravating.
Don’t always have time to look at prior day comments but glad I did this morning. Like what you bring up here about the frustrating parts of Wordle. Still plan to play because I haven’t reached the burn-out point yet but will look into 6wordle! Thanks for the heads-up.
* I was nearly ready to quit wordle when I found the After Party last spring. The stories, fun, and camaraderie in the AP 🥳 made wordle fun again. Actually, much MORE fun.

I was very thankful to get one Green and 2 Yellows in my first 2 guesses. Then I was sure the answer was Vapor and did a double take when I saw 2 Gray spaces! I could feel the shock wave from 2 Repeats one day apart roll through the millions of Wordle Players! I think Ms. Bennett wants to keep us on our toes and she is succeeding.

I think the first 236 are OK, since most people weren’t playing Wordle before NYT purchased the game (except Kim S).
I started playing the game on #367. So, 1YRs are OK for me personally.

I think of the repeats as evening the playing field for the unforked — those who haven’t found five forks or are two proud or lazy to use it.

I had the same problem, trying VAPOR and RAZOR first. It’s only been 2 days! I did consider that MAJOR was #20 and that might be it. But of course I tried the new words first. With the possibility that old words could be reused so quickly, I may need to rethink my strategy. I hatesss it, tricksy Wordle! We hatesss them!

BTW, my average monthly score improved drastically after joining the AP. It’s having a little problem this month, though. LOLZ My attitude towards TB and wordle has become less 🤬 and more 🥳, too.
