I looked at this week’s words to see if there was a pattern. I try to sense what vowels might be used today. I decided on I and E. Went to my word list to see which word to start with. I noticed I didn’t have any T words.That’s why I chose TRIED. Not bad! I went to our handy tool and tested ?R?ED. I got BREED and GREED. I did a search on FREED which gave me the second E – but that wasn’t it. I felt it could only be CREED. -
Balanced out yesterday’s 2 with a 6!

“YOUR GUESS: WIPED 83
MY PICKS: DRECK 99
WIPED was guaranteed to eliminate every word but one, but it couldn’t solve the puzzle given what was learned from your previous guesses.” Did anyone else get this weird message? -

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CREEDSince there are 35 remaining possibilities after guess 1, I decided to change my standard second guess from CRIED to SCUDI.
This turned out to be a great filter and only left me with CREED, because I matched 4 out 5 letters.
However, if I stuck with CRIED, I would have had a lot more green. LOL.
The pattern looks like a yellow boat with a hole in it.

Now I can’t decided between CRIED, SCREW, and WIDER.
I can get it in 3 for 9 and 10 words using SCREW and WIDER.
Only 6 for CRIED, but CRIED gives me far more guarantees of 4 than SCREW and WIDER do.
While I don’t want a 4, I would rather not score 5!

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CreedAfter SANER, I was apparently still half asleep. I confused the meaning of green and yellow! I thought the only possible words were DEMUR and FEMUR. 🥴
Oh, well. That just means I tested eight letters instead of ten in the first two words.

There’s an advantage of Hard Mode. It wouldn’t have accepted DEMUR as you’d ignored (misinterpreted through drowsiness) the meaning of the green.

Even with DEMUR getting through, I still have more fun with easy mode than I would with hard mode.

The time not to guess a double letter is when you haven’t played it yet. (or if you already know it’s not in the puzzle / even worse!)
