Claire, then Kathy, then Kelly, now I have all picked up bad colds. This Dilbert asks and answers a question I had never considered.

Your blogs are safely backed up every day (and now I know for sure.) Finally got around to verifying that the daily backups using AutoMySQLDump can be used to restore the entire database. I ran a mini disaster recovery using the old iMac.
Note to self: Kept trying to use the command “mysqldump” to restore, but that is an output only command. Just using “mysql” and reversing the out character > with the in character < did it:
root# /usr/local/bin/mysql -umxxxxx -pgxxxxx mov_type < /2004-10-17.Sunday.sql

Great story on installing a $2,000, paperbook-sized cell phone jammer in churches. I’d pay $100 towards the purchase at Saint John Neumann just so they can quit asking people to turn them off! And all thanks to Israel!
SYDNEY, Australia — Swinburne University of Technology’s center for micro-photonics have constructed a model of the Sydney Opera House, see photo above, that is about half the diameter of a human hair. It is more than a million times smaller than the real Sydney structure. The model was built from a hybrid material of glass and polymer by firing intense laser light into the matter in a liquid state to create what to the human eye appears as an almost imperceptible dot, but under an electron microscope it contains the detail and the beauty of the iconic Sydney harbour side structure. Read a recommendation to use zoneedit.com for dynamic ip address serving. This is useful if you want to host a website from home but you do not have a fixed i.p. address.
Dominik Gwosdek: Panther Update CD Hack
If you, like me, were frustrated with the $19.95 Jaguar upgrade disc because it would not work as a full installer (it requires that a version of OS X is already installed, will only upgrade ‘? no clean installs), well, worry no more. Now you can get a clean install of Jaguar.
Do take time in your busy schedule to remember Brother Bob who is currently over seas. You may want to print out his schedule so that you can think about what he and his Rotary buddies are doing at any given time of the day:

A link for Greg’s Dad:
I enjoyed the addition of Jabba in the first Star Wars Movie. It was a scene George Lucas wanted to have, but could not afford. He had a goal of more interaction between strange aliens and humans that were limited without the yet created computer animation that would allow it.
I agree with the “Greedo Shoots First” complaint. Nasty guy, Greedo. Shootin’ him first was ok with me.
Here’s a link for Greg himself… and anyone else interested in the Box DVD set of Star Wars being released today.
Since Greg moved Rosary Army off of mac.fiveforks.com, I have not had the visibility of new postings on RA as I used to have. Greg added an “RSS” feed on Rosary Army that can be used by a feed-reader like Bloglines.com. So I’m happy to now have Rosary Army in my blog watch list. The feed is: http://www.rosaryarmy.com/ra.xml.
