In my language arts class, we are learning about poetry (again). People chose silly poems, creative poems, sad poems, but I chose an inspirational poem. This Sunday, I saw a girl that sat near us at church. She was deaf and blind and it was interesting to watch her understand what was going on. So, she inspired me to write this poem.<\/p>\n
Life in Silence<\/p>\n
<\/big><\/p>\n
All in the time she has lived<\/p>\n With nothing to hear<\/p>\n Or to see<\/p>\n A wondrous life to guarantee<\/p>\n Her ears still linger for sound to enter<\/p>\n As her eyes never see past a black sheet<\/p>\n For her, nothing is missing<\/p>\n Her life is complete<\/p>\n Her small hands rest on another woman’s<\/p>\n With feeling sign language as interaction<\/p>\n The woman’s hands continuously move<\/p>\n Her effort to imitate never does shorten<\/p>\n Others wonder how her mind works<\/p>\n Sometimes it may seem frightful<\/p>\n But, not knowing to talk, or see<\/p>\n This is what she knows as normal<\/p>\n Look into the glassy gray eyes<\/p>\n With a smile forming gently<\/p>\n It shows her life in silence<\/p>\n Has infinite words to show beauty<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" In my language arts class, we are learning about poetry (again).
