In a medium bowl, stir together flour, sugar &amp; baking powder. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg, mik &amp; vanilla<br \/>\n add to flour mixture. Mix well. On a lightly floured surface, knead gently 10-12 strokes or until smooth. Cover &amp; chill 1\/3 dough. Pat remaining dough onto the bottom &amp; up sides of a 10&#8243; springform pan. Arrange apple slices over pastry in pan. Stir together preserves &amp; sugar. Spread evenly over apples. On a lightly floured surface, roll chilled pastry into a 10&#8243; circle. Cut into 1\/2&#8243; wide strips. Arrange strips in a lattice pattern. Brush with milk &amp; sprinkle with sugar. Bake 45-50 minutes or until fruit is tender. To prevent overbrowning, cover loosely with foil the last 10-15 minutes.
