Boil 4 minutes without stirring. Remove pan from heat, and add milk. Mix well. Return pan to heat &amp; cook at medium-low boil for 30 minutes, or until mixture reaches 238 degrees on a candy thermometer. Stir constantly. Remove from heat &amp; stir in vanilla. Pour into a buttered 9&#8243; square pan. Cool in pan 2 hours.
