{"id":2589,"date":"1999-12-04T13:04:21","date_gmt":"1999-12-04T13:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveforks.com\/katfood\/cinnamon-ice-cream\/"},"modified":"1999-12-04T13:04:21","modified_gmt":"1999-12-04T13:04:21","slug":"cinnamon-ice-cream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveforks.com\/katfood\/cinnamon-ice-cream\/","title":{"rendered":"Cinnamon Ice Cream"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"asset-body\">\n<p>3 c. heavy whipping cream<br \/>\n1 c. milk<br \/>\n3\/4 c. granulated sugar<br \/>\n1 whole vanilla bean, halved lengthwise<br \/>\n2 tsps. ground cinnamon<br \/>\n4 egg yolks<br \/>\n3&#8243; cinnamon sticks, for garnish<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"asset-more\" id=\"more\">\n<p>Heat cream, milk, sugar, vanilla bean &amp; ground cinnamon in a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves &amp; mixture is hot. Remove from heat. Remove vanilla bean carefully &amp; scrape seeds from the bean back into cream mixture. Whisk egg yolks in a bowl. Slowly add 1 c. cream mixture into yolks, whisking constantly until smooth. Slowly pour egg mixture back into cream mixture, whisking constantly. Place saucepan back over medium heat<br \/>\n stirring constantly, cook for 10-15 minutes, until mixture thickens. Do not boil. Chill to form a custard. Pour custard into bowl of an ice cream machine<br \/>\n freeze according to manufacturer&#8217;s directions. To serve, place a cinnamon stick in the top of each scoop.
