Make each volume a bootable OS X Installer for two different versions, in this\u00a0example\u00a0Yosemite and Mavericks.<\/p>\n<p>Erase:<br \/>\nUsing Disk Utilities, erase the USB using Mac OS Extended (Journaled).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1071 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/fiveforks.com\/jeb\/files\/2014\/11\/erase-usb.png\" alt=\"erase-usb\" width=\"273\" height=\"71\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Partition:<br \/>\nSet each to Mac OS Extended (Journaled)<br \/>\nTake out the space in \u201cUntitled1\u201d and \u201cUntitled2&#8243;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1072\" src=\"http:\/\/fiveforks.com\/jeb\/files\/2014\/11\/partition-usb.png\" alt=\"partition-usb\" width=\"435\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can download the Yosemite installer and it will go into the Applications folder. Do not run the installer.<\/p>\n<p>You\u00a0will need to have a copy of the Mavericks installer from a previous download. It is\u00a0no longer available from Apple. Place it in\u00a0the Applications folder.<\/p>\n<p>Copy and paste each of the following commands into a Terminal window. The location of the installers and the name of the\u00a0Untitled volumes must match.<\/p>\n<p>Make Mavericks USB boot drive (Untitled1)<\/p>\n<p>sudo \/Applications\/Install\\ OS\\ X\\ Mavericks.app\/Contents\/Resources\/createinstallmedia &#8211;volume \/Volumes\/Untitled1 &#8211;applicationpath \/Applications\/Install\\ OS\\ X\\ Mavericks.app \u2014nointeraction<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Make Yosemite boot drive (Untitled2)<\/p>\n<p>sudo \/Applications\/Install\\ OS\\ X\\ Yosemite.app\/Contents\/Resources\/createinstallmedia &#8211;volume \/Volumes\/Untitled2 &#8211;applicationpath \/Applications\/Install\\ OS\\ X\\ Yosemite.app &#8211;nointeraction<\/p>\n<p>Once complete, you will have two bootable volumes that can be selected holding the &#8220;Option&#8221; key when starting up your Mac.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1069 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/fiveforks.com\/jeb\/files\/2014\/11\/dual-usb-yosemite-mavericks.png\" alt=\"dual-usb-yosemite-mavericks\" width=\"163\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Partition a 16 GB USB Drive into two volumes.
